Default CDV/clutch delay valve

Anyone know whether the CDV that is inline with the fluid feed to the clutch slave cylinder restricts fluid in both directions or just in the engagement(let off clutch) direction?

I haven't looked at a CDV or anything, but surely it's one-way by design and intent. I've never seen any complaints of delayed AP2 clutch disengagement and I've never felt any - surely one would notice. It's purely to prevent exploding diffs on engagement.

Yea ,that's what I was assuming as well. Maybe next time I flush the clutch fluid I'll give a looksee. I suspect if it does in fact restrict in one direction it must be some sort of ball check valve setup with bleed ports. The whole reason that I was initiallly concerned is whether this component could potentially cause a slight delay in clutch disengagement and play culprit to the common issue of occasional notchy shifts from 2nd to third.I can prevent mine from this slight notchy condition simply by slightly delaying the stick placement.Particularly when the tranny is not fully warm. It's also been my experience that check valves as well as many hydraulic components are subject to failure or design glitches that could be exacerbated by worn dirty fluid.

It would be interesting to hear from someone who may have removed theirs and found that it improved the overall feel and operation of the clutch.Cheers.
