Hello All Budget Racer here,

This is my first Diy so wish me luck. Well fixing a loose EP3 vent is pretty simple, but I hope it helps someone anyways. I noticed there was allot of views on my other post "Loose Vents" Question.

Remove Shift **** by turning counter clockwise.



Grab upperr right of the shifter trim (finger nails) and pull outward.You can dangle the trim with the wire harness or if **** remove the harness and set aside.



Grab bottom of stereo trim and carefully pull up and outwards while looking for wires and freeing them. Pull trim out far enough to get behind the vents.



I used the univeral tool called a butter knife. You can use anything similar that wont break. It helps you to get the plastic hinge out without breaking it. I put one hand through back of vents to help push while prying "lightly" with butter knife. (Don't laugh butter knife werks heh)



The Side vents you just need to aim them down and grab one hand firm on the top of vent and supporting the bottom with other hand, lightly pulling the vent from the bottom. You may need some sideways action too but lightly. The plastic hinges in the middle are the fragile part.



Once vents are out you just need to put sticky 1/8" thick or so felt tabs on the sides where the vents touch. You can try different types or shapes as long as it fills the gap "enough" to keep vents still on bumps and yet loose enough to move. Try using how many felt's you want. I ended up going with one felt on each side of the vent. Place so you cant see when you move vent. Be carefull not to knock them off when putting vent back in. The rest is reverse of removal. P.S. I got my Felt pack at Target and it had many sizes.

huh, pretty cool stuff. Nice and simple!!! I didn't know WTH you meant first, but I need the same thing done to mine. guess I better get my trusty butter knife out of my toolbox. lol...

 

Haha Wassup. Whats not to understand either you have loose air vents or not? Let me know if I miss something then I can change my post to make it better. Thx for comments

Gotta Love the butter knife haha it was my first tool as a kid..sig? LMAO

 

For this particular step, if you gotten this far, you do not need a butter knife.

Just unscrew the rear panel that is holding the vents and you can pull out the damage vent without breaking a sweat

 

Hmmm I didn't notice that but thanks for contributing. Hopefully there will be no more EP3's with loose Airvents!!

Mine are still working but a lil bit looser since the fix. When I redo it I will try and use thicker felt pads.
