Default how hard to get b16 ef in 13's?

here's the plan...got a '91 si with a b16. I think it is a pretty strong runnig b16 so I think it is a good building block. so far it had UR underdrive pulley(crank), and an iceman intake. my goal is to rebuild with ctr pistons, maybe lightly upgrade the valvetrain, go either smsp or hytech header (that will put me out of commission for a while) and not sure on the exhaust yet but it will have to be pretty quiet...then I will get some electronics(v-afc) to tune it and a shop a few miles from home just got a dyno jet so that is very very cool. is this set-up good for low 14's, high 13's GENERALLY speaking( I know all the other variables that come into play)

civic type r pistons, some sort of better rods, new head gasket, 15 inch wheels with good tires (drag radials or good performance street tires) stage 3 clutch, intake, header, exhaust, fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, u kno things like that. good driving with no stupid **** like big rims or sterio, a good launch and good suspension u should hit 13s...

you prolly wont need a fuel pump

pistons (reenforced) ctr cams crower or crane valvetrain. lightened flywheel. fpr (or an afc which i prefer) good tires weight reduction you'll be fine. need t know how to drive tho

i doubt the fuel rail will have that much of an influence, and for naturally aspirated, i think shot peened B16 rods are more than enough.

I believe you can hit 13s with i/h/e and upgraded cams, and cam gears + tuning

upgraded fuel rale and pump are for the bottle...not na. i think jsut i.h.e. and cams and tuning would not cut it...nice tires. by the way if you have the money, a lsd will help you get there. intake manifold will help as well. last case option, and only if you want to run 12's, rumor has it every hpracing sticker you add shaves a tenth...lol. build the motor up and spray it is what i say

Yo shea-bird where is that dyno shop at in Stroudsburg. I live in Wilkes Barre and I have been trying to find a shop for a while now. I have a similar setup like you 90si with b16a. So just let me know whenever you got a minute

I think with i/h/e and you get some good cams and tune them as good as possible, you should have enough power to hit 13's. Of course some good rims/tires is a must and also maybe some weight reduction can't hurt either. But i think 13's with a B16 is simple, heck i'm trying to hit low 14's with a D16a6.

honestly guys the b16a with i/h/e will have enough power to get into the high 13s low 14s. the problem in getting good if not great times is launch, REACTION TIME, and suspension. look at other peoples 60' times and compare them to yours, if you look at that youll see thats were the b16a isnt so strong as say a gsr.

derek

Reaction time doesn't affect your quarter times. You need low weight with a B16a as you have NO torque. Weight down = times down!!!!

jun3 cams, gears, different ecu reprogaming, FPR, afc, tunning, tunning, toda header, good exhust, lighten flywheel(toda-jun), head job, complete valtrian upgrade! some good high comp pistions like ...11.5:1 or higher....
13 rims w/ 22inch slicks, good suspension and a decent driver==== 12.8-13.9

OR you could do I/H/E, gut it and fit slicks.......and save several thousand U.S. dollars

when i had a b16a i hit 13.9 with this setup: AEM intake, dc header,and greddy exhaust. and bigger throttle body. i also had some 14 inch micky thompson slicks mounted on stock civic rims. i had a 2.0 60 ft and a trap speed of 97 mph. if only i had some bogarts or better slicks to improve my 60 ft i kno i could have done 13.7-13.8.

that is def. a nice time...I am hoping with a rebuild(ctr pistons), upgraded valve train, i/h/e, a chip, and some tuning that I can have a solid 13 sec. car...we'll see. it will be a fairly slow process
