High comp pistons on stock ecu?
I have a 97 coupe that I have totake for emissions... and I don't want to do the same gsr or b16 swap like everyone. I prefer n/a over boost too. So I'm thinking of going lsv. So seeing as I have emissions I have to pass the obd2 plug in. I know an lsv will pass if I run the gsr ecu and not throw any codes, forget what p the obd2 is. But if I put high compression pistons in the bottom, will I still be able to pass emissions on a stock ecu? I just can't throw any codes, so I was thinking that turning up the fuel pressure would straighten out how it ran?

If all they check for is CEL, then you should be mine with stock cams and stock ecu with a bit higher CR as long as all other emission sensors, etc. are connected and working properly.
That and the fact that OBDIIa/b is almost untunable and there's no programs i know of out that support that system.
Oh yeah, there's plenty of tuneable OBDII domestics. I didn't know Hondas were different. Is it like the Mopar stuff and the program is locked?
people tune on obd1 because its easy to manipulate the sensors. 0bd2 vehicles have too many emissions variables which make it a hassle.
Its just.. dumb really to try and tune on OBDII and hack job the wiring.
ok so going back to on topic, i should be able to run higher compression pistons and just put on a gsr ecu just to get me to the emissions and pass?
that right there is gonna throw a code on the odb2 ecu... when you take it to get inspected couldnt you just tell them original motor blew so you had to replace it with a older motor and it was odb1???? wouldnt that kinda solve all your problems
thats pretty gay your state sucks im pretty sure you can replace the motor with what ever is avalible as long as its still the same motor , you should check with your state
