Default 1998 Torneo VTS F20B SOHC 5speed manual

Recently bought this car but don't know much about it. Would like to know but can't find much info on it. I get about 550km from 45 Liters of 91 octane petrol.

Just wondering...

My car has 4-2-1 extractors and an adjustable cam gear. What does this mean?

It used to be supercharged but isn't now. Is it worth turbing it or should I get a new engine?

Also anyone got an idea how to tighten the hand brake?

Any comments tips advise would be great,
Cheers,
Matt

The adjustable cam gear if for the timming for when the supercharger was on there. Can't really say it's a great engine or worth the work when you can get a swap for maybe the same price and produce close to the same power. Dont quote me on that im just not big on sohc even tho i have seen great things with them.

The 4-2-1 extractor is the new exhaust manifold, known as header:

It replaces the original unit which is most of the time heavier and has a small inside diameter for reasons of fuel economy and etc. Here's a typical 4-1 exhaust manifold that cars come with:

For you to tighten the hand brake, you need to remove the center console, and you will find a cable that leads into 2 cables, here are a few pics for reference: different model accord though.

Notice where the 2 cables meet, there's a nut at the end of cable that reaches the hand brake, as you tighten it, you will notice that the hand brake takes less "clicks" to be pulled.

I'd say keep the car stock, don't turbo or do anything to it as you seem not to know much about the subject.

Do you know specifically what model F20B you have? Is it the F20B2 (aka my engine)

Thanks

Thanks Fellas,

Managed to tighten the handbrake.
Not sure what specific model just that its the Blue Top SOHC F20B.

Also need some more speed. Got pulled doing 110 mph and it just wouldn't go faster. Lost my license for 6 months so I've got some time to save and figure out what I'm gonna do. Any ideas?

Cheers,
Matt
