Crossbeam/steering gearbox removal
hey guys, i drive a 97 prelude and i figured out that i need to replace my front suspension crossbeam (not the engine crossbeam, the one holding the LCAs) and i need some help. the crossbeam itself is only held on to the chassis by 4 large bolts, but the problem is that the steering gearbox sits in it. the beam wraps around the top of the gearbox. please correct me if i'm wrong but as far as i can tell, it is impossible to remove the crossbeam without first removing the gearbox.
ive downloaded the helms manual, which says that removal of the steering gearbox requires removal of the drivers airbag assembly and the steering wheel. does this sound right? and how difficult is it? the helms is comlpletely objective so it doesnt really tell you the difficulty of anything, just gives you step by step instructions. i dont wanna jump into anything i cant handle.
