$ to replace timing belt and water pump ?
My local Honda dealer here in north new jersey has an ad in the paper to replace the timing belt and water pump for $380. Is that a good price? It's a 2000 Accord SE with 157,000 miles. The previous owner replaced the timing belt once at 60,000 miles.
Is that a fair price? What's everyone paying for this service?

That is a good price. Inquire about the shaft seals (if applicable to your engine) as well.
It is about $100 in parts for just the belt and water pump and about $200 in parts for the seals, tensioner, accessory belts, etc.
Don't be shocked if they try and upsell you the other parts and labor.

That is a "get you in the door" ad.....by the time you walk out, double at least?
There are many members on here that are tech's at dealerships and I'm sure they will chime in. I'm assuming at least 3.6 hours labor, then parts....

I just paid 410 and that is with taxes for my water pump and timing belt...sounds about right. Like everyone else said though, thats to go get you in the door and there are likely small fees and what not that will bump the price up and then they will try and sell you everything else too.
I am in central NJ. Open road honda charge $859 for timing belt, water pump, power steering belt and compressor belt. They will inspect seals, if need to replace, $59 a piece. Your dealer price is very good.
