Icon2 PS rack in non-PS EG?? Can I plug hole on PS rack and install it?

I have been looking at prices to replace my wornout manual rack for a new one and the power steering ones are significantly cheaper than the manual ones. can i plug the hole on the power rack and install it? is this a bad idea??

P/S rack is going to be a lot harder to turn at low speeds than a real manual rack. You'll also have to swap the subframe or make a custom bracket to bolt the passenger's side of the rack to the subframe. If you're gonna swap in a power rack do it right and grab the rack, subframe lines, pump etc and install that, preferably get it from a '94 - '01 Integra (subframe has a stiffening bar the civic lacks and the Integra rack is quicker from lock to lock. Just make sure if you do this get everything from an integra as the lines and reservoir are different than a civic, pump is the same though.

why not get the complete setup and put the power steering on? can't cost much more..

if you choose to get just the rack though, search for info on looping the power steering rack.

i am already running ac on the car, i really dont want to add another pully. I think I am just going to get a reman'd stock manual rack but they seem to be so damn expensive. I need to do somthing soon because this thing driver worse than my wrangler with 38 inch tires on it.

I wasn't aware that any integras had manual steering, but it should work.

If you do a Toyota MR2 electric PS conversion, you won't be adding another pulley, thus virtually no power loss (maybe 1 whp if that). Very popular conversion for hotrod fanatics. The MR2 pump is expensive though...easily $400. I'll be doing this conversion pretty soon. Manual steering is WAY overrated. I'd much rather have PS, especially when doing something like autocross, where fatigue is a very real issue.
