Default ball joint question

I have a 94 honda civic EX and I can't get my front lower ball joint to separate. I've been using a fork separator but it isn't budging. Anyone have suggestions to get it apart??

Thanks

i usually get a hammer and keep hitting the front lca where the ball joint meets at. a good couple of strong hits will let it lose.

Won't work if it's frozen. It took me about 2 hours with mine. And I broke the pcikle fork.
Just keep banging on them, I would pound the fork in and jump on it. That eventully got it, remember to replace them when done

Did you remove the ring that also holds it in place? and take the boot off

im pretty sure he's asking how to separate the balljoint from the control arm. not take it off the knuckle.

i always do the hammer method, illustrated in the above link further down the 1st page. you must use a 3lb sledge or heavier, not a carpenters hammer. and try both sides. its the most effective and works taking the upper balljoint and the tie rod end off too.
