Icon2 catback opinions?

My stock muffler rusted out and sounded pretty bad, so now i'm looking for a catback that retains roughly the stock loudness. Basically I want to get some input on which catback would be the nicest. I have a 600 dollar budget and right now i'm looking at getting an apexi ws2. Let me know what you guys think would sound decent.

That's what every one is saying lol. Seems like that's the exhaust to go with hands down, but I wanna know what all is out there. My buddy has some skunk2 and its a little loud for what I want.

Any chambered type of muffler should give you the silence you want. The WS2 is a great choice, very quiet, a little over stock. If you want to go with a loud one, then you cant beat the Spoon N1 axleback. Nicest sounding axleback IMO, especially when paired up with a T1R b pipe

what does a test pipe do for sound on a ws2? i've had people saying buy one and others saying don't buy one. I've had people tell me to gut my cat, but i think i would just buy a highflow cat before i did that.

It depends on which test pipe you buy...you get what you pay for. If you go with something cheap and non resonated, prepare to sound like a weedwacker/lawnmower, but if you dish out the money for a high quality resonated test pipe, like the T1R, or even a high flow cat, which essentially is the same, then it would give you a much better sound.

And you also had a very restrictive catback along with a chambered muffler, so that might be the reason why it didnt sound bad.

A free flowing exhaust straight through with a skunk2 test pipe, i can bet sounds like ***.
With a t1r test pipe, not so much.

if your looking for a quality sound, stick with the cat, test pipes make the exhaust poppy and raspy.

You can get a T1R for about 130 or so. You can probably source one out used for ~100 or so if you are lucky. Well worth it tho, IMO.
