hi, my over the past few days, whenever i press the accelerator slightly more when im on a higher gear and low rpms, it struggles, not wanting to move and after about 3 or 4 seconds suddenly kicks in and is fine. usually around 2-3k rpm. ive read some other posts here but the thing is mine is only OCCASIONALLY and sometimes its fine.

also i found out yesterday that one of my gaskets along my exhaust was leaking and replaced that. it seemed to be better after that but then it happened again once or twice much later during the day.

one more thing, i recently went for a dyno tune, except that during that time, my gasket might have already been leaking and maybe the proper readings werent being sent to the air/fuel sensor which they plug into the exhaust. does this mean after i replaced the gasket i now have to go for a re-tune and that the settings now are not matching my engine as it should?

oh yeah also on the whole now, i feel slightly less power like the response and surge from the vtec is slightly less. dont know if this is coz of settings based on the leaking gasket?

 

forgot to mention. this happen twice in the past but went away after a day or so. and both those times it had rained really heavy the day before. even this time it rained really heavy the day before then i got the problem. dont know if that has any relevance.

did you check your compression? i had a customers car do the same and he had a chip on one of his valves. made it idle weird but ran great at higher speeds.

 

erm nope i havent. my idling is fine though. and like i said the sluggishness would only happen like 5 out of 10 times at 2-3k rpm on gear 3. and on gear 4, around 3-4k rpm. and how come the last 2 times when it happened it just went away for a long time? any idea?

reset your ecu and see what happens. is yours chipped?

i was speaking to someone earlier who mentioned a fuel filter issue. and that its possible that sometimes coz of rain and it gets cold it could cause such a problem and then get better by itself. make any sense?
