My 65A fuseable link continues to blow everytime I try to install it!!
Earlier this evening, I decided to switch out my battery on my 1987 Acura Integra but accidentally hooked the positive cable to the negative terminal. Immediately, the 65A fusible link popped. I left my battery hooked up (correctly) and went to replace the fusible link and it popped again. Next, I tried it with the battery disconnected and installed the fusible link first. I connected the positive cable with the positive terminal first and no issue. The second the negative cable touched the negative terminal, it popped again. Anyone have any sort of direction for me to go? The people at NAPA and Schucks were puzzled as well. I would really appreciate some advice...Thank You for your time.
are the positive and negative symbols visible on your battery, maybe its possible that your hooking the battery up backwards, not calling you dumb or anything.
only thing i can think of is you toasted the wire along the way somewhere.. get an ohm tester and test from ground to each side of the link and see if its grounded
Ditto the above^^^ you have a short, something after the fuse is shorted to ground, you need to connect a multimeter to the "downstream" side of fuse, the other end of meter to chassis ground, set meter to continuity, [it will indicate continuity] then one by one pull any fuse on that circuit until you meter indicates no continuity. 94
