B20Vtec "In Memory" Build
Picked this car up a few months ago from a real good guy in PA, paid a little over 2 grand for it.
Main reason why I bought the car was for the motor, b20vtec (b20 crv block, gsr head/tranny). The original plan was to put the motor in my hatch, but the sedan started growing on me, it was real low key and I liked it..
Time went on and I needed to get in touch with the previous owner, Abdul, I tried a number of ways to get a hold of him and finally I tried looking for him on facebook. I came across a memorial page with his name on it and my stomach instantly sank. He was in a car accident and passed away on the scene just weeks after I bought the car off him.
Before I left his house with the sedan, he told me to take real good care of her and no accidents, I promised I wouldn't, so this build is for him.
on with the pictures
first time i saw the motor in pa

on the trailer

checking motor and hids after a quick test drive

some quick shots the night i got her home, had to see what i was workin wit!

gsr im is staying.. i'd like to keep the motor exactly how it is, except for cleaning it up, vc and gaskets.. the motor was built by the previous owner, probably the only thing that will stay the same

little bit of progress, not much.. there's really no time to work on this, hopefully when winter comes i can free up a little more time to get these updates in

i finally got the car home so i can work on it more regularly.. got a bunch of air tools for xmas and then i went and picked up a damn nice 60gallon, 6 1/2 hp air compressor for $300..
now- keep it mind, i don't know much about motors, or much about the wires that connect to them lol.. everything i'm doing as far as shaving/tucking is a shot in the dark, so if i'm doing anything wrong, please- pitch in
some quick shots of the motor.. had some questions about some scratches in it, but they've been answers, the scratches in it are harmless and are just from some headwork that was done

this is normal as well

my workspace.. **** light, not a lot of room to move, no heat.. but it something so i gotta be grateful for it

kay, on with the project pictures
basically how it sat when i got it home

dash out, wanted to be sure i was doing it properly, since i broke too many things the last time i took my dash out in my hatch, so used this site
http://importnut.net/civicsteeringswap.htm

now, i pulled the accessory part of the harness into the cab since thats what will be getting tucked, and i left the engine harness part in the bay until i figure out what to do with that
pulled through pic of the bay

inside picture with the fusebox hooked up, just need to find somewhere to mount it.. i wish i had passenger air bags but unfortunately i don't or else i would have put it in there, i think i may just mount it upside down under the glovebox

end of the day and how it sits now.. i think i may want to move the clutch line, but i'm going to have to read up on it a little more to make sure i know what i'm doing and can do it smoothly

tried tucking the drivers side a bit.. **** was harder than i thought it would be.. i think what i'm going to do is tuck the accessories through my fenders, and run my engine harness through the bottom of the firewall.. i just hope i don't have to cut anything because that will just cause problems..
these pics are more for references than anything
this is the mess i'm dealing with under the dash.. there was an alarm system with autostart and clutch bypass. i want to keep it but it's messyy!! there was also a wire running with a button type thing, it looked like some sort of sensor that would trip the alarm if the hood was opened/pushed/sat on

if anyone has any tips on how to approach this wires, or even a diagram showing what they all go to (minus the alarm system) it would be very helpful..
the pic of the "button".. would it make sense?

"new" compressor i bought off my boss. 60 gallon, 6 1/2 hp.. new bov and pulley, real nice.. paid $300 for it

anyone know what this plug goes to? it runs off my drivers side harness and looks like it plugs into something to do with power steering? i'm not sure if i can delete it or not
the plug

what it plugs into

drivers side harness stripped.. this is so i can extend and organize the wirs and run them through a hole in the firewall that i'll cut out near the bottom

taped up so its not in the way

quick "garage" shot

mess i'm dealing with

this raised spot in the firewall near the top middle of the pic is where i'm going to cut and run my engine harness through.. i just need to find a big *** grommet

passenger side tucked, not sure what to do with the clutch line still. need to find a nice diy for 'er

drivers side tucked, going to use this diy to convert the power steering to "manual" steering.. http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/ho...-20-bucks.html

this is all the wires under the drivers dash.. its an absolute mess, most of it is the alarm system.. i tried taking it out to put it somewhere else, but it was wired into the clutch and ignition so i'm going to try and leave it but hide it where it is

small update- wiper motor wire tucked
i wasn't going to tuck this wire since it wasn't too visible, but i figured i might as well since i've this far
the wiper wire runs out of the drivers side harness hole with the rest of the harness. it goes directly up along the top of the engine bay (under the windshield) and then into where all the wiper guts are.. i pulled it back through into the cab and drilled a hole directly through the (lets call it) wiper bay..

i ended up cutting the plug off so i could feed it through the 3/8" hole that i drilled..

this is the plug i cut and the wires that i loomed up and taped that were threaded through the hole i cut

this is coming through the hole all taped up.. i hate exposed wires, and i'm super **** about how i wire things up, so thats why the plug is taped, you can never be too safe

taped up the other side of the plug so it was matching and plugged 'er in

cowl back on, and no wires to be seen

Nice job, make sure you seal that hole up. as for a grommet for your firewall check out jegs.com, they stock quite a few different sizes.
thanks a bunch- it means a lot, i appreciate it
Got to borrow the welder at work today so I spent about 5 hours, on and off, hammering the bay out.. Welding and grinding..
here's a few pictures, not a lot, but hey. it's an update
drivers side, say hi to the hatch

passenger side, now I know it looks like a missed a few holes here and there, but I didn't, I've got some plans for 'em

now for a few questions..
what is this black cylinder?

also, what is this and how's it work?
brake lines were running into it

i've decided to keep my brakes in the bay instead of tucking them for a few reason.. will save a lot of time, money and stress.. and i've been doing some research and they don't look too bad in shaved bays if they're cleaned up..
makes me regret bending them and ****

to answer your questions, the black thing is a charcoal canister, it can be deleted, gas from the tank gets vented to the charcoal canister then the ecu tells the canister to vent the fumes later i think, either way its not needed, i deleted it on my hatch and ran a line from the tank vent down the fire wall and under the car.
the other thing is your proportioning valve, it sets the front/rear brake bias. to properly use the rear discs you'll need a non abs 40/40 valve so you might as well source and install one now. they can be easily found on 90-93 da integras, and newer non abs integras
