hey guys im timing my b series and i ran into a promblem . i put my #1 piston all the way too the top , then i tried too match the lines on the cam gear to the deck . but when i do the cams lift up the cam caps . ( reminder cam caps are not torqued down ) can i just losen the camm gears and line up the lines to the deck height then tighten the cam gears ????? thanks

 

(reminder cam caps need to be torqued down)......Does that help you?

Yea TDC I couldn't think of that lol but when I torque the cams down like I have done I can't spin the cams to line up the lines on the cam gears to the deck . Unless I'm tooo week too lol idk

 

Are you using assembly lube on the cam gears? Are you torquing down the cam caps/rail bolts to the proper torque and in the proper sequence?

 

sometimes its hard to get them to stay without the belt, you may need to line it up, put a belt on then line the other and slip the belt on..
