Where can I find a type R?
^Word. Unless you want to go through all the bullsh1t to get it over here, my advice would be to search in cali. Try to find one that is already registered, it will save you time, money and a headache or 2.
Yep, Japan or California would probably be your best bet.
Though from what I hear, since you live in Arizona there's a good chance soon after it will end up in Mexico.
A Type R will get you a lot of attention. Some positive and lots of negative. This is not a good idea for a daily driver. Just FYI.

I'd only get a Type R if I could fulfill the following conditions:
- Able to afford to pay for vehicle
- Able to afford to properly care for vehicle (insurance, maintenance, security, etc.)
- Able to garage vehicle
- Able to have a daily driver (and fulfill first two criteria for this vehicle) to help protect vehicle

If they made this in LHD, I'd have bought it already. Hope you got $14k cash, because you won't be able to get much of a loan on this.

It's a laundry list of criteria to get a Japanese domestic market vehicle to pass dot approval it all varies on the inspector, but you could end up having to replace all glass, head lights , tail lights, front bumper, adding door frame support adding emissions standard equipment and possibly even crashing it for dot approval, like everyone is saying buy one that's already registered. its a awesome car car tho but you will need cash in hand cause a bank isnt going to finance that and your only option would be a high interest rate personal loan or have credit good enough to put 10-15k on the visa, its usually not all that practical unless your rich. Oh and have fun swinging through the drive thru. It's a huge pain in the ***
thanks for the info. i live in AZ so getting it registered shouldn't be that hard considering they register sand rails as long as they have headlights and turn signals. you don't even need a windshield as long as you have glasses or goggles on. I love living in the desert lol. you can have a car with no doors as long as you have seat belts. and nobody even knows what smog is out here.
