drivers seat removal on a 06'
I'd like to remove the seat assy so I can get the bottom re-upholstered. Will this cause the SRS system to trigger an air bag light or is the procedure simply a means of unbolting the seats and disconnecting the seat belt/snesor leads and the headrest speaker leads. Thanks in advance for any input.
PS,before posting this I did a search and came up with what was supposed to be explicit instructions. All it said was to remove the seat and that installation was the reverse of the removal procedure.Duuuuuhh.

Assuming you're not going to drive the car (driver seat) why would it matter if a airbag light came on? Also assuming if it did it would go back off when you put the seat back in
I know it can lead to a light that needs to be reset if you turn the car on while the airbag is disconnected on newer models. Might be the same for the seat? To be sure, just disconnect the battery and your will be fine.
Cool B serious. That's just the specific info I was seeking. Do you remember how many connectors besides the roll bar speakers you had to disconnect? Obviously I haven't tackled this job yet.

There are 2 plugs on the bottom of the driver's seat, IIRC. It's 4 bolts and 2 plugs. ANYONE with a wrench can do this. It took me literally 2 mins to get it out of there.
I don't think the roll bar speakers are plugged into the seat bottom, however. The roll bars are behind the seat...so that wouldn't make sense.
Unclip both plugs from their holsters. Then unplug them. Done.
2 12mm head bolts hold the front of the seats.
2 14mm head bolts hold the rear of the seats.
The passenger seat is a little more complex. But the driver's seat is a no brainer.

Yeah, I didn't disconnect the battery leads.
The weight sensor underneath the seat won't set off the air bag. It just tells the SRS system that there's someone in the seat.
The G sensor in the airbag unit or electricity through the airbag connectors will set it off. None of those are located in the seat.
I guess it couldn't hurt to unplug the battery. But I didn't bother.
