So I just tried to match up my new taillights that I got for my 96 civic dx 4dr. These are the second set that I have had to get. The first ones wouldn't match up on the trunk so I sent them back and the company suggested these oem style lights for 4 doors. Was hoping to go black but ohh well. Anyways I tried putting them in today and still the lights on the trunk are way to small. I have no clue what is going on. I'm pretty sure that the trunk is same one that has been on the car since the beginning. Its just aggravating the hell out of me that I can not seem to get the right tail lights can anyone instruct me to some that will fit? Sorry btw if this is not the correct place to put this.

Your trunk lid is from a '99 - '00 Civic.

 

will the outside lights be the same then?

 

You need 99-00 inners. Do you outer lights fit correctly?

 

yes outer lights pop right into place just hard trying to find just lights for trunk damn previous owners

 

outer lights fit the same, inners are different. If its any consolation the '99 - '00 style looks better IMO.

It's not even that they're too small. They're just the wrong shape entirely.
