Default Question about tire size for wheel

I have 15 inch steelies that came from a 02 accord I believe. Need some tires but Im not sure what the recommend size is? I THINK its a 15x6 but im not sure....I could measure it but im at work and looking for a quick answer so i can buy tires NOW.

So probably this is a better question...anyone know what the exact size of an 02 accord steel wheel is? (this will help me figure out the recommended size tire to use)

The proper tire size depends on the car it's going on, not just on the wheel.

The 2002 Accord LX Sedan came with 15x6 steelies. However, the bolt pattern is 4x114.3 so it can't be used on a '97-00 Civic with a 4x100 hub.

If this is for your 1997-2000 Civic, you can pick up a set of 15" steelies that came on a 2001-2005 Civic and they will have the 4x100 bolt pattern you need. You can also use 15" alloy wheels from any non-Type-R '94-01 Integra, for which there are plenty of used sets (fat fives, blades, etc) available for cheap. Either way, the 15" tire size for your '97-00 Civic is 195/55-15 or 205/50-15.

Yea i know they are 4x114 and they aren't being used for my civic. Its not even going on a honda lol. But I guess my question now would be, how does the vehicle effect tire size to change?

Cars are designed to take a specific tire size. As a general rule, when you're looking at normal daily driving and street use, you want to choose a size that has the same outer diameter as the stock tire size, and is no more than 20 mm wider than the stock tire size. That way, you won't be disrupting the accuracy of the speedometer and odometer, and the tires won't be rubbing in the wheel wells.

8. This is honda-tech.com, a place for sharing information about Honda and Acura cars. This isn't the place for information about wheels and tires for your grandmother's Buick or your son's Mustang; there are other websites that specialize in those cars, where people will have more specific expertise with those cars than here.
