Default Codes 1, 4, 20, 23 and limping

So I did reasearch and came across many mixed answers, basically it's an LS/Vtec, 99 b1 block, b16a2 obd1 head, JDM P30 ecu.

It was running ok-ish for a week or so, throwing code 20-23, but there were no noticeable problems except for hesitation under 1800rpm. Today something new happened, it threw codes 1 and 4 on top of all of that. I read up that many people with code 4 can't rev over 3500 or so but for me it revs as far as it revs, problem is it is limping like there's no tomorow, on highway to get up a small hill I have to downshift to 4th to try to stay at 90kmh, on a slightly steeper hill it's 3rd for me. While limping in 3rd on the highway it all of a sudden started to pick up the pace around 5000. Nothing at first and at 5000 it was as if power was returning to it. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Alex.

Bump and update, now it will barely move in 1st, and I mean barelyyyyy move, as if I'm trying to climb a wall.

now i could look up the codes, but being that you're requesting aid, i feel it's your responsibility to specify them.
do that, and let's see what we can do

Alright so codes are:
1: Oxygen Sensor "A" (Primary) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
4: CKP Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
20: Electrical Load Detector defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
23: KS (Knock Sensor) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor

The last two do not worry me, it has no knock sensor so I'll have to figure that one out, but the car ran fine with those two codes.

O2, hell, car was backfiring when I tried to rev it in neutral so that could be fried.
As for the CKP, I don't think the problem lies with that. Tried on a new dizzy but it's still throwing the codes and goes in super limp mode, I'm thinking that the ecu might have crapped out (JDM p30), I'll try to plug in my old ecu (LS) and see if this one throws the code as well. According to my theory if the LS ecu doesn't throw a code then the p30 is done, correct me if I'm wrong though.

If you have a 99block the Crank position sensor is on behind the crank pulley, not in the dizzy.

the code 20,will make it run like ***...Most of the time thats a sensor getting grounded to throw that code.

of course hesitation... you need the KNOCK with a stock VTEC B-series or P28 ecu.. also with a bad O2 , and NO crank sensor....NO good... Just do one thing at a time and youll prob be ok..

Well here's the think though, it was throwing the knock sensor code before and there were no problems, ELD was always along side the knock code and car ran fine, it's when the ecu threw the crank and o2 code, that's when **** hit the fan. The O2 sensor is fine, I put on my old LS ecu and only codes I was getting were the secondary O2, it's disconnected, and the CKP sensor. Now, I don't think both ECUs are fried, we tried 2 different distributors, checked the resistance of the sensor, seemed fine. We rang the wiring through, wires seem to be in working order. Could a faulty sensor make the ECU throw a different code?

It is, but it's an LS vtec and an OBD1 swap.

so how do u know the o2 is good? if the o2 has a fault, the ecu will run on set fuel parameters. on a stock engine with the stock ecu, it's hardly noticeable when in this mode, aside from poor mileage. but on your car it MAY be a problem

i'm pretty sure if the knock sensor is tripped, the ecu will adjust fuel timing slightly in order to prevent damage. pretty sure, not positive. would make sense if it did though
that would certainly give you a decrease in power though if it did

So the primary O2 sensor is fine because only one of the ECU is saying that there's a problem with it, the P30 doesn't look for the secondary.
