s2000 hood with vents?
I have seen a couple s2000 with vents but only on the passenger side. They progressively get smaller and are about 4 or 5. The vents are not finned like the mugen one but rather holes with mesh wire in them. I have seen this on more than 1 s2000 so I assume its a production not a custom.
Any ideas?

The reason why these vents only "look good" and are meant to be on the left side of the car (passenger side), is because it is meant to dissipate the heat from the exhaust manifold area.
It works the best when it comes to turbo or supercharged s2000's, as they create more heat. A couple of my friends have this done, but say its a bit bad when it starts pouring, since everything, including the battery and intake will get tremendously wet. This is primary reason why i have not done this yet...

The entire it getting wet thing isn't a huge concern. I've seen people with vented hood's sense CF became popular back when, not one of them as has any major or minor issues for that matter.
Your motor is sealed, and water isn't going to be laying in there very long if it finds a little crevice, news flash it's HOT under the hood.
Other than more dirt/dust/grime, you are fine.
^^Im sorry if you misunderstood me, but if you read my post again, you can see im not referring to the engine itself..We all know its hot under there, and water wont be much of a concern. I was actually referring to the BATTERY AND INTAKE. I would not want my battery to be soaked and its hard to avoid, since one of the vents is directly over it. My friend also had problems with his intake, so he made a custom shield to put over it so that it would not get wet. These were the problems i mentioned.
I was looking to get one for my turbo S as well, but these factors have made me think twice about it. The temperature under the hood is not that extreme that i need them, so its been fine without the vents. It looks amazing, but for me, it wont be ideal.

I relocated my battery to my trunk when I traveled to the darkside just to avoid any problems with heat and rain in the engine bay with a vented hood
One of my next projects will be to do a complete wire tuck and shaved bay....At that point, the hood vents will be next on my list
The guy who does it, is actually in Woodbridge, NJ now, so its about 20 minutes away from me as well...cant go wrong.

A for your intake, unless it was SOAKED in standing water, water won't hurt it either. It's not even the point that water will hurt damage it, it's the fact of it saturating the filter and getting into the motor. Even then like I said, it would have to be a pretty bad rain, but a shield would help.
I'm not sure if I would have done it if my car was a daily driver. It never see's water unless I'm washing it.
