i have a 95 eg8 that i just got done putting a turbo d16 in last month. my front brakes need to be replaced, but i don't know if i should get oem replacements or upgrade to bigger and better brakes because of the added power. i also still have the rear drum brakes and not sure if i should convert to discs either. so what do you all recommend? and if i do need to upgrade what parts do i change? just bigger rotors and pads or what? thanks in advance.

 

GSR or Si breaks. u can get from the junkyard or craigslist. to do the rear disc conversion you need; uprights, prop.valve,e-break cables, spindle,hub, rotors and calipers.

 

or just get the damn trailing arms off a ex their the same size as the si on the rear, get them from a junk yard and they will sell you everything you need except the cables, their 200 bucks at honda

 

or even better just use the trailing arms you have now so that you know theyre not bent (considering theyre not ) you also dont NEED a new proportioning valve you will be fine and dont forget rear disc brake lines

by the sound of it i guess i should do the rear disc swap. and are you saying si/gsr front brakes too? are they that much better?

 

gsr calipers are a little bigger then si, and the rotors are a little bigger then cx and dx but only by 1 inch, their 10.3 and dx are 9.3 so your just getting bigger calipers, id go with either for now until i could afford a BIG brake kit upgrade if the car is gonna be built for speed

if your gonna swap the fronts as well as the rears you might as well shell out the extra cash and upgrade master cylinder, brake stopper and some ss lines. noticable difference!

 

he could do the dx master cylinder, its the same size as the si and i think the same size as the gsr
