I know this had been covered, but I get a little lost in some of the possibilities so I'd like to outline my exact symptoms in hopes of a perfect answer

When the car is cold, it'll go to a very high smooth idle, around 2500rpm. If I bump the throttle it'll begin to surge from approx 1400-2500rpm. Once it is warm it'll idle down under 1000rpm and stays smooth. I can restart the car as long as it's stayed warmed up and the problem doesnt come back. Best idea's?

 

FITV. Remove it from underneath your Throttle Body and back the wax ball down and put it all back together. That should stop the high idle and surge at cold start up.
