Hey i have a 1990 integra 4 door.
Yesterday , i was snaking down the curve, when i heard a scrape, i thought it was my bumper as usual, so i just drove over it, heard grinding noises...... as if my motor blew, but thats not the case.

Problem:
Car starts fine, Just wont drive.... i put it into first gear, let go of the clutch, and it doesnt stall, i drop into 2nd gear, car doesnt stall, but it grinds a little.

In guessing its either tranny or axle?
i heard its also my CV joints. how can i tell if my tranny or clutch is dead? T.T

 

If you can put it easily into gear with the engine running its probably not your clutch. Its also most likely not your transmission.

Your cv axles are my best guess. This has happened on several occasions for me.

 

Well if it starts then i doubt its your clutch, but then again if your dropping the clutch and its not stalling or moving...

Alright, i went to go tow it back, checked it out. So basicly, it doesnt go into gear easily when i try to put it into gear without clutching, i heard that if thats the case, my clutch is still good.

Soo took a look, while the engine was running, i told my friend to try to put it in gear without depressing the clutch, i heard a grinding noise. looked where that noise was coming from, it was the axle, the driver axle was spinning, and making a grinding noise, and the passenger side axle was doing something too, forgot.... eh

So its the axle thats messed up?

 

Yup it's your driver side axle then. It should not be spinning when the car is not moving.
