Icon6 BLOX Valvetrain Experiences

I have been looking at BLOX valve springs and retainers and wanted to get some input from people who have used them. Would like to know what cams you are using with them, how high you're revvin, and how long you've had them. I know BLOX is a replica company of Skunk2 and I don't need to be reminded, im not trying to start a thread war like the BLOX V2 IM thread recently turned out to be

I run blox springs with blox stg 2 cams, supertech flat valves and crower retainers. My motor sees 8500rpm often. Ive only got about 500 miles on this setup, but so far so good.

Yea im probaly gonna try the springs and retainers out. From what I've read BLOX products are exact replicas of Skunk 2 products. BLOX owner is supposably an ex-co-owner of Skunk 2 and decided to replicate skunk and sell it for affordable prices, don't know the exact truth but that's what the majority of people have said.
Cut-throat stuff if you ask me but hey, saves my pockets

Anybody try their valves?

I ordered a set of their valves like 2 years ago from their website and waited 4 months and then finally cancelled my order, only after cancelling my order using the excuse that I found a set of blox valves elsewear the guy told me they quit producing their valves 8 months before I put in my order. I was pissed so I went with BC

You won't find that because they aren't set up like real companies like Skunk or Bisimoto Engineering. All you might see are Blox vendors that will try to sell their stuff. Anyone else starting to get the picture of what that company really is yet?

you can't have a rep come on and speak on behalf of a product that has no R&D. he can tell you its an exact replica of skunk2 and will perform as such. which a lot of people can tell you.

Yea but hearing it straight from a rep instead of Joe Blow here would be more assuring no?

How are they not set up like other companys? you call them up they have reps to help just like any other company. And they back their products just as confidently as Skunk 2 and warranty their items for manufacturer defects just like the rest

Only picture I get from you is that you don't like BLOX and your gonna say whatever you can to discredit them even though I have yet to see one post from you saying you've used them personally.

BLOX scares me with anything other than a flashy item that is not seeing anything moving/mechanical. Its basically an EBAY company making knock offs of things. I would love to see some testing on this stuff but when it comes down to my motor, I'm going with the big names that have done a lot of R&D, and products put to the test in race cars.

The ONLY reason Blox products are sold on egay is cause the vendors have their online store connected to it. JHPUSA.com for example is a vendor on ebay that sells Blox products but it also sells Skunk 2, Hasport, Hondata, AEM, Toda, Spoon, ACT, Exedy, and much more. So are they all "basicly ebay companies"

Why would you risk one of the most critical parts of your engine to save little money? If they fail you'll be spending a whole lot more. Supertech are pretty cheap and proven.

Come on guys, this is starting to be a Blox Vs. Skunk2 thread. I'm pretty sure the OP wants to know about this particular product and someone that's owned the product is the best person to get feedback from, like posts 2 and 3 did. So if you haven't experience them or know someone closely that has, then maybe you shouldn't critics the product or the company. I'm just saying.
OT: Sorry OP, but I have never owned Blox valvetrain or know someone that does, so I'm not going to bash the company or its product.

I gave OP my personal experience and I actually prefer my blox c cams compared to my JUN 2 cams.

as far as the super tech ive seen more of their valves and valvetrain fail than any other company. ive seen crower cams fail, ive seen skunk2 cam gears fail.

no one makes a prefect product (never seen a arp product fail :-D ) but blox is just as good as any company from my personal experience

Have you ever called up Blox before? Have you ever asked them any technical questions before? degree specs? cam centerlines? dimensions of their intake manifolds? etc?

For your reference, I use to own the largest performance shop in my province, I have made calls to blox before. I think the fact that I do not use any of their parts and have such a "strong" opinion of them should speak volumes. What you interpret as my opinion is incorrect, I only speak from experience regarding them. I use QUALITY parts on my car, I support people and manufacturers that contribute to this industry, not live like parasites off of it. I'm not here to bash Blox specifically, I'm trying to enlighten all the people who don't understand how buying their products (and companies that copy products) hurts everyone in this industry and rewards no one when they really need the support.

You should like those cams better since they are Jun 3 replicas.....much better profiles and performance.

If they didn't rape people on prices they'd get more support.

If people weren't so ignorant as to why they pay those prices, they'd realize they weren't being raped at all.

r&d isn't free, or marketing, or fabrication, or transportation. your paying for more then just a name when you pay alot...usually.
