For those about to ROCK! (I Salute you!!) (my first post in the Prelude forum)
I have a 98 accord sedan LX 4 cylinder, 5 speed.
I would aprreciate any input:
I am looking for a h22A engine+trans. Once I find it, I will take my time to rebuild it till next summer. Then in June I will put it in the accord. My research is almost finished as far as the swap is concerned.
Please let me know your ideas about setups. I want to go N/A but I don't need anything more than 230-250 HP.
I have been reading the archives and some of you guys have crazy setups.
I do want a reliable engine and like I said I am not going to drag the car. I just want good N/A power. If I do go ahead and put in the type-s cams what else would be a good idea?
Thanks,
Nikos

thanks to areyouasian for the pics

Do you mean at the crank? getting 230whp on an H22 N/A is tough. At least in a prelude anyways..

Nope.. the wheels. Just 20-30 HP more than stock.

You say 230 whp and then you say just 30 more hp than stock. H22As put down anywhere from 160whp-165whp in most instances. It takes a well tuned 75 shot of nitrous to get up to 230whp. Right now I have 217 whp and an ungodly 10.5 AF ratio. 230 whp is going to be stretching it. You might want to start looking into high compression stroker kits or plan on boring some Golden Eagle sleeves out for another tenth liter or two.
I mean at the crank!!!!! Sorry.....
Thanks though!!!
Yeah okay so 230 at the crank is still a little tough. I'll estimate that at 180-185whp
That will be tough to hit with just bolt ons. You'll need all of them
Generally I would say you need higher compression (11:1+) to hit 190+ if you're NA

Get a JDM H22a(Higer compression), AEM CAI, Greddy Header, Any Decent Exhaust. Cam gears, pulleys, and VAFC and you should be almost there. Throw some cams on there and you will defintely hit your goal.
one day:
12:1
golden eagle block
portflow head; stage 3 cams
everything p&p
all the bolt ons of course, and if that doesnt work... R&D here i come!

Is that with spray, or just motor? If its just motor, what do you have in there?
