Default D16Y8: How to read/display Knock Sensor information

Hellow.

I have a 99 civic d16y8.. it has a knock sensor.. and the stock ecu reads it..
But i replaced the stock ECU with a P28 and reprogrammed with crome.

P28 does't read the knock sensor... and i want to see or read the knock sensor information anyway... LED / Sound / Computer / Others...

Any ideias how to read the signal coming from the stock stock sensor ??

Since i'm a computer programmer if possible to read the signal on the computer i can make the software... but any method is acceptable ..
I haven't found anything about this. Help me please!

Thankz,
cpl

well all i know is det cans are a popular method. its been done many times and it works plain and simple. If your anything like me though and want to utilize something a little more ...reassuring? i just ordered my knocklite. looks pretty good to me, found it for $93+ shipping. came out to $100.01, it taps into your knock sensor and your rpm that the ecu reads and also doubles as a less obnoxious shift light. still not possible to datalog with it i dont think though, or at least i havent thought of a way... but im not skilled when it comes to programming so that may be right up your alley. check it out!

J&S safeguard, i hear works pretty well and will automatically pull timing but only on the single cylinder that is knocking. From my understanding (correct me if Im wrong) but ur knock sensor will only work below a certain rpm, say 5000 or before vtec kicks in. The motor just makes to much noise for it to work properly above that threshold. Kinda makes me wonder y in the hell they put it in there in the first place.

You need an ecu with the knock board in it like the p72 or p30....normal p28 doesn't have the hardware in it for a knock sensor.

The stock d-series & b-series knock sensors are not exactly what you would call accurate.

A set of "det-cans" or a listening device would be much more accurate then the factory knock sensor.
