CEL91 solution- Possibly WTB
So I swapped a y8 head onto a y7 block in my del sol S. I have a P2P out of a 96 5spd civic EX and its throwing the CEl91 code- which the 97 Del Sol S does not have the hardware to read.
I have the potentiometer fix ready to install, but I'd rather plug and play an ECU that fits my harness and will NOT look for a Fuel Tank Pressure Senor rather than put out a constant voltage and have the computer figure it out down the road and re-throw the code. As my car is a 97, it is one year past the grandfathered clause for 96 and prior emissions and its ECU MUST be plugged into the state database- with ANY CEL causing it to fail inspection. Even though the ECU and head are 96, the fact its throwing a code and its all installed into a 97 chassis will prevent it from passing inspection.
From what i have seen over the last 3 hours of searching, I may need a p28 from a 96-97 del sol Si- that is OBD2. I do NOT want an OBD1 P28, where I would have to change the wiring harness. I'd rather not do the potentiometer fix or the fuel tank fix as one is a band aid, and the other I've already installed a new fuel tank/pump/filter recently.
