ABS delete 98 GSR
Ive just looked at 20+ threads about ABS deletes on integras.
i know i need a 40/40 valve and some brake lines.
question is can i still use my abs master cylinder? if No then why?
i cant seem to find the answer anywhere.
Thanks in advance!!

Yes, you can still use your existing ABS brake master cylinder. You'll have to cut one of the brake lines that you purchase, but everything else will work. I just completed the ABS delete two weeks ago and it reduced the weight of my car by at least 30 pounds. Check out my video above.

no, it's really not very heavy and going from an oem flywheel to a fidanza will save a similar amount of weight. unless it's a purpose built drag car or an autocross car that's having trouble with pulsing there is no good reason to remove it.
you know the honda demographic though, dump it, strip it and buy a worn out gsr head to create your lsv. drive 6 months till you have more problems than you want to address then put it on craigslist for more than it's worth, finally, out of frustration you sell it to a buddy and continue with life.

i did an abs to rs conversion on my da and the da had alot more stuff in it than the dc. the da had about 20-30 lbs of parts including the abs computer. honda made alot of advancments between the da and dc models. i had to change my mc cause the abs mc had 2 different size nuts. i just went to the junk yard and got al the engine bay piping. i didnt feel like stripping the whole interior to get the rears. the 2 for the rear that were short, i found brake line couplings at my local parts store and a 24" piece of brake line and did my own extentions. but this was for a da. just go to a junk yard and take out the mc and lines from an rs and if anything is short then make extentions. flaring tools are about 20 bucks and remember to TAKE YOUR TIME removing the old lines. one kink and your off to search for another rs which are not to easy to find anymore. im guessing that rs's are one quarter of whats out there.
maybe a sensor is out..the light will always be on if you delete abs or disconnect it... only way that i know to turn the light off is by fixing the problem or take your cluster off and cutting that light off
I don't know about obd2 but in my first da I just unplugged the abs ecu and the light went out. And in the da I have now I did an rs conversion and the light isn't on. I even changed the cluster and found that the old cluster had 4 bulbs removed but the clust from my first da is perfect and no lights. They had the fuel bulb, Cel bulb, abs bulb and seat belt bulb removed. What a hack!

it's a da, soooo many of those poor cars are hacked beyond belief. it's bad enough with dc's. it's not at all uncommon to see pre 2001 hondas completely beat to ****. a lot of 16yr old kids get them, have no clue what they are doing and just kill the cars, then they get resold and it continues. a well maintained stock car or one modded with high end parts and cared for is rare and expensive.
my first da i was lucky and it was owned by an older guy and it was perfect except for a little crinkle in the one fender. only real problem that i found wa that the guy was having it serviced at places like pepboys and other shops like that so i found myself replacing alot of the parts with oem parts and them some bitched stopped short in front of me right after i unplugged my abs and i slid right into her. so just unplugging the abs computer is not the smartest thing to do. doing a whole conversion to rs brake lines is def the way to go. when my buddy first got the da that i have now he got it with the interior half painted and the springs were heated in two lines of on each side of the springs and they just collapsed. they road around like that like a bunch of idiots. ive put about 200 hrs and about 2k into making it road worthy and buying nice oem parts for it. my last da was parted out cause it was declared totaled so i had tons of oem parts from it to restore the da i have now.
