Default e.c.u.

can't find e.c.u. in my 2.0 se! w reg, engine management light came on and after 5 or 10 mins won't rev passed 4000 rpm! no codes appear on dashboard "where do they flash at?" so been told to reset ecu but where and how to do it I DO NOT KNOW!!!. please help. cheers yan
oh yeah its a uk accord 2000 6th gen

Reset the ECU by pulling the fuse or the battery.....

For most Accords it's in the passenger footwell.

done that, just noticed that oil level is below the min mark, that won't help but would that put it into "limp home mode"

6th Gens are usually reset by holding in the trip odometer reset while turning the key to the on position. You have to hold it until the CEL turns off. Don't know if it's the same for EDM models though. Also, 6th gen ecu's are in the dash behind the center console. You should also be obd2, so you would need to connect a scanner to pull the codes.

Low oil level can trip a CEL, especially if the oil pickup pulls in air. That would drop your oil pressure which will trip a CEL. Or, if your vtec solenoid doesn't get the oil/pressure it needs to kick on, it will trip a CEL.

ha ha just put 3 ltr of oil in the god dam thing!!! eml went straight away. what a numpty. thanks people but should i look at small things first and not think the worse. lol
