Wireing and emissions.
This has been driving me crazy for some time wondering if this will work and have a few questions. I have a 98dx civic with a built and turboed jdm b16a obd1 engine. It's time for emissions So I really dont feel like swaping out the whole set up back to stock for a 2 sec test so I'm trying to make it work heres my plan and questions. The car didnt have a vtec motor to begin with so i swaped the harness for a EX harness (obd2) I plan on useing a 97 del-sol usdm vtec ecu to control the car when i go to emissions. I did the CFK sensor bypass trick already, i plan to swap my 1000cc injectors and use eaither the stock obd1 b16 injectors (if the will fit) or use the stock Dseries that came with the car or if i have to i'll buy 00 civic si injectors eaither way I plan on running stock injectors. Than i plan on taking off my 3bar map sensor and use the stock one again eaither by useing the stock jdm one or the stock D series or if i need to buy one again I will. How ever this should be all i need to do to pass emissions Expect for my secondary o2 sensor which i will get into in a sec but this should be it correct ? In my state (CT) all you need is to have no CEL or codes and you pass. Now heres my questions I know i have to manually wire my o2 sensor straight to my ecu due to the fact that the EX engine harness dosent have it wired in even tho the car is a DX i used an EX harness so IN my full-race downpipe i have a 2 o2 bung before the cat next to my wide band I plan on useing that for my o2 sensor and running the wires right up to the ecu. But were can i get ecu pins ? can I steel them from the old obd1 jdm harness or are the pins in an obd1 car different than the pins in an obd2 car. Will this all work with no CEL or would it just be easier just to swap the set up back to stock.
haha orange yeah ct sucks right! Just bring the car to emissions and they will say the computer wont connect and you simply reply the law states they have to sniff the car on the rollers. so be sure you have a catclytic converter on there and if the tune is good it should pass no problem. if you need any tuning lmk im local
