Default Eibach Pro Street S Coilover Review

Lots of people are asking which full coilover system to go with and are in search of people's opinion so i decided to give my review on Eibach Pro Street S Coilovers. These coilovers were bought for my DD car that i am using for school and work. I wanted something a little more smoother than my brothers Tein SS on his civic.

Car: 96 civic hb
*Note: I put the the thicker springs in the front and the thinner ones in the back. Not to sure if that is correct or its the other way around. I called Eibach and gave them the part number off the coils and that is what the guy told me over the phone. Correct me if I am wrong*

Coilover kit: Eibach Pro Street S Coilovers
1-3 inch lower in the front and rear as stated on Eibach's website.
*NOTE: these coilovers I am using are for the 94-00 integra and not for the 96-00 civics*

Now here is a photo of my car with the coilover kits on

now here is close up on the front wheels

keep in mind these are for the 94-00 integra and front is set to about 8 rings up from the last ring meaning the front can go lower.

here is the rear and its the lowest you can go

here is what the car looks like from a side view. i tried my best to show you the height difference

My Opinion: I think these coilovers are ok because as you can see from the pix the rear coils are adjusted to the lowest setting and they don't even tuck the tire so I don't think its 1-3 inches in lowering in the rear but for some odd reason the fronts can go lower. I don't know if its because they are ment for the integras only (i don't really see much difference if they were civic coils or integra coils. I know the spring rate may be the same or off by a little only) but its the lowest i can go and the coilovers bottom out in the rear when you get on a ruff road. My brother's Tein SS does not bottom out and is much lower than my car. But I guessing i'll drive it around until the spring settles and sags(maybe idk). YOU CAN FEEL ALL THE BUMPS ON THE ROAD EVEN ON THE SMOOTHEST STREET YOU WILL STILL FEEL THE LITTLE BUMPS TRUST ME! I drove my HB to the normal streest, ruffest streets in town and over the train tracks but the good thing is i can fly over train tracks at 40 MPH with no problem mean the car is not flying everywhere it just bottoms out. My brothers Tein SS are about the same but i feel that the Tein SS ride is smoother but not by much. If youring asking if i would recommend these to anyone...I would have to say NO for now because the ride is not what I was expecting. I have used Eibach springs and GC coilovers with shock combo and they ride WAY WAY smoother.

Overall I believe these coilovers are not bad but again i just recently installed them. I was hoping the rear would sit lower but now i have to adjust them higher because they are bottoming out. They are good for what i paid for them which is $500 used with shipping on ebay from a shop in Fontana, CA but when i go them they looked brand new meaning no paint chip on the springs or coil sleeve damage.

Please leave any recommendations how to lower the rear and not have it bottom out or you own experience with this coilover system.

But....you have an EK, different part number for the EG/DC. Of course they arent going to be the same.

It is not uncommon to be able to use 5th gen suspension on 6th gen cars. All you have to do in the rear is use some spacers/washers. Sounds like the rates were too soft in the rear.

Yeah, but he states he is all the way down?? Somethings wrong. I wanna make a new thread about these coilovers, because I am interested in purchasing a set. Everything in the search is from like 2009 and older.

I wanna know how far down they actually go, maybe using GC top hats.

Get informed. Top hats will not allow the car to sit any lower.

I am aware of that, but helps the shock travel in the case of increased lowering.

I just wanna know how far down these go on the correct vehicle. It is a simple question.

So how do top hats get the car lower? If you know that then why did you say "maybe with GC top hats"? I'm going to guess that I can do a 10 second Google search and find out the answer to your question.
Lookie here. Looks like a similar drop.

NO images show the cars going lower that these.

What are those pics?? Eibach ProStreet-S? If so, they didnt come up in my searches. vtecvoodoo has been asked in a PM whether or not they go as low as my previous setups.

Cliffs:Your pics didn't answer my question. (/

Seems like you're still not getting it... Putting on the extended top mounts will not magically make the car sit lower. If the spring collar is all the way down, it physically cannot go any lower unless you get shorter springs. Putting the top mounts on will just help increase shock travel. I do not see these going much lower, if at all any lower, than what the OP posted even if it were for the correct car. The suspension for EG/DC/EK are very similar. Go ahead and spend the money, come back and show us how dumped your car sits on these same coilovers...

I dont see why the ego's have to fly in here, jesus. Just answer the questions without all the stupid *** quips. It was simple. 4 useless posts when all mr mod had to say was "no, they wont be any lower on the correct EG/DC chassis"

I know the top hats wont make it lower, but make it easier on the suspension when all the way down.

But yeah, I just dont wanna blow the money, if the OP is all the way down, this isnt the suspension I want. Thanks.
