99 accord crap tranny
i have put 2 trannys in my wifes 99 accord. now its needin a third. can anyone tell me if a 96-97 accord tranny will work. both being obd2 im thinkin they will but dont know if they will plug up. help please
If you have a Manual transmission the 96 will fit in your 99 but the speedometer will not read correctly because they have different a tooth count on the speedo gear. If you have an Automatic transmission the 96 will not work.
thanks. you are the only one whos gave me any advice. just triin to figure out somethin to do with the car. its a nice car but crappy tranny. wish she could drive a stick. is there any other options for a tranny without costing an arm and a leg? or possibly a motor and auto tranny swap?
I would stay with the original design 99 Accord Automatic transmission but with updated valve body plugs.

im just asking why wouldnt a auto tranny work but a manual tranny would....they both mount up to the engine the same...its just the tranny-body mount that is different bettwen those 2
The 99 auto transmission shifting and torque convertor lock up are controlled by the PCM. It uses shift solenoids and speed sensors that are calibrated to be used with a specific PCM. The 96 Accord Auto does not use a linear solenoid to control pump pressure and it has a completely different design than the 99 model.
well wut would it cost to rebuild one and wut kind of warranty? im lookin at an infinty g35 sedan witch i would like to put her in because its a nice car and seems to be alot more reliable than this accord. i might go that route and do somethin fun with the accord when my nissan is done.
