Hi every one,

I have 95 accord, Ex, auto, 2.2L single cam.
half yr ago, my speedo stayed/bounce at 20mph once the ignition is on, did the same thing even the car was moving. i replaced the VSS(bought from ebay), didn't solve the problem. after i scalped the epoxy on the speedo circuit board(see link http://www.flickr.com/photos/23732694@N03/4667583709/ ) speedo worked again. everything work the way they should.

This morning i was driving on highway, the speedo suddenly dropped to 0mph, D4 light started blinking, cruise control not working, engine check light came on after 10 mins, but the car drive just fine, when i came to a stop, i shifted to d3 or d2 or R, D4 light still blinks. then i shut off the car, start up again, D4 light was not blinking, engine check light went off. but speedo still stays at 0mph.

Would that be the VSS problem? bad ebay parts?

Should i check the code and clean the connections on VSS?

Suggestion please.

this same exact problem happened to me about an hour ago.

 

when my vss failed on my car, my speedo would go on and off, intermittently. Sometimes it would just stay on while im driving, and then just start bouncing up and down.

try cleaning the connection first...that might help...but i dont think that will really solve the issue..

My suggestion to you would be to check your vss again...if possible get a hold of a genuine vss and not that of just from ebay..the one you got might be bad...



i solved mine with a vss from a friend..its used...but he knew it works...

turned out to be the VSS, i disassembled the VSS, cleaned the thick dirt off, put everything back in, seal with poly, my speedo works again
