I had the Avistart 6501 installed several years ago by Goodguys and it worked fine initially. After that, something went wrong (don't remember what went wrong) so had a friend reconnected the starter wire back as if the wire has not been cut (for starter kill). Now I am trying to get the remote starter to work so I cut the starter wire and have the 2 ends connected to the remote starter wires. The car can be remotely started but then the D4 light would be flashing then the check engine light comes on. The code that I read from the code scanner was P0758 which has something to do with transmission shift lock solenoid B. However, starting with the key does not cause this problem. The other thing is that if starting with the key in the cranking position a bit longer than needed then it would also cause the check engine light to turn on.

I've been searching for solution for the past week but could not find anything. Has anyone here installed remote starter on Accord 98-02?
