anybody know why i need this?
Hey guys putting an ls vtec together and heard i would need the upper timing cover from a gsr? Does that mean the inn er and outer or just the outer? Why is this necessary anyways? Thanks for the input if anyone knows the answer
There is no direct fit oem timing belt combination for lsvtec builds. Some trimming is required. Why don't you experiment on your own and share what you've learned with HT instead going by what someone said or heard.
Im a douchebag for not spoon feeding you? I told you there's no direct fit combination. You want me to give you the exact measurements and location of where to trim? "Lol"
That was just not cool DUDE. I don't think anyone has respect anymore dude. You could have responded in a better way dude. and OMG!!! a d-bag is not a nice thing to say to someone who has been here 7 years compared to 22 days. He told to trimming is required, and sharing your experience could benefit you to becoming a well respected member then someone who is ignored often because he/she was selfish. Grow a set of man nuts, and talk like a man dude.
If your putting the LSVTEC together, how about you try the Valve Cover you have first before jumping on everyone else to give you an exact answer. Stop being lazy and see for yourself.
Wow, what have internet forums turned in to? I am sorry that i have not found any info on this after searching the web and turned to an internet forum. I also apologize for never having built an ls vtec before, i apologize for not living in california where everyone and their brother does this **** and where ther is hundreds of performance shops at my disposal. I furthermore apologize for not being a member for 7 years and contributing every ounce of my limited b series knowledge to the community, which even if I did i would be told how my advice was wrong because i didn't know what i was talking about. I love how these things are a double edged sword in the fact that if you don't know you're a noob, and if you try to know well to hell if someones gonna allow you to ask questions ^ You guys need to grow up and realize a forum is a resource and community not a place to sarcastically advertize your knowledge and internet supremacy. It would have been one thing if i were to get on here and ask "hey man howz abouts ya tell meh how to hook up Nos on my whip dog?" But no, i asked if anyone knew about timing covers which only goes to show that i've actually done enough research on my own to figure out that it is a required modification. I once again apologize for making the mistake of asking a question about something that i was new to, and had limited knowledge of. To dntnedvtec- I am quivering right now because you came off as such a badass, you are the toughest internet forum guy i have met so far and one day strive to be as cool as you and be able to ignorantly make fun of suscepting people in internet forums just reaching out for help. Thanks to people like you no one will ever think of touching a honda engine simply because they lack the knowledge and to hell if they're going to get any help or advice from HT because you guys have always known this stuff and never had to learn. I'm sure it was bestowed upon you by god with the strict instructions to never relenquish the secrets of the trade and if asked to proceed with the upmost sarcasm and disrespect...

I run on cover on mine, top or bottem. I would suggest doing that, instead of stressing over belt covers.. Most on here run a lower timing cover, but i expect if you dont plan on sandbugging anytime soon you really dont have anything to worry about..
