Default B18C & NYS Inspection...HELP!!

Okay, so let me start by saying that i have searched around to get information on this subject and though i am pretty educated on the subject, i still have a few unanswered questions. My car is a 97 Integra LS with a b18C-r swap. Vtec and knock sensor were both wired to ecu.

Now when i go to get my inspection done in NYS, the OBD computer can not read my car/computer, probably (definitely) because it is a JDM ECU (is there a way to bypass this). Now my question is if i purchase say a USDM p2p computer, and bypass the ckf sensor, VTEC pressure switch, and fix my o2 sensor problem (no CAT in the car), presumably the car should pass inspection correct? obviously i don't want to run the car daily with the p2p computer, i will use my jdm p73 type r computer so if this work is done, will i run into problems later when i reconnect my original JDM ECU?

or would it be easier to get a p75 LS ECU..seeing as it doesnt have a VTEC solenoid, i wouldnt see it throwing a VPS CEL.

depends on how **** your state is. 97 is obd2 which if they make you stay obd2 means you have to run a cfs sensor and vtec solenoid with a oil pressure switch. ecu wise you would run the usdm p73-ao2 but good luck ever finding one. you could try a gsr ecu and switch it in the parking lot p72-a03 is correct for a 97. you also need to plumb evap somehow

if they will let obd1 pass all you need is a p28 or p72 and your choice of tuning. a hondata s100 is only 199 and not at all a bad way to go. using this also means you don't have to run more wires or sensors.

you never delete the primary o2, only the post cat. running a non o2 map is a great way to get 18mpg

i have no idea if it's legal, i told you to ask your local emission station

If i throw a gsr ecu in the car, essentially i would get 4 (or more) cel's. i can bypass both the CKF and VPS. as for the o2 sensor, ill go to my local muffler shop and have them install an o2 simulator into my pipe.

Now my question is in regards to the EVAP system. JDM engines don't have the purge solenoid because they have different emmissions standards, and im pretty sure there is a code for the EVAP on a USDM ECU. Is there a way i can bypass this so that i do not throw any codes relating to the evap system?

since you are in NY best bet is to find a GSR ecu put it in your car then see what codes you get then go from there....you will need to figure out a way to get it so your O2s are working then you need a cat. myself i had to do convert back to stock with my car for a day or 2 then put all my stuff back on.

easy way to get through EVAP is by fill your tank with gas ALL THE WAY. then you need to get the clear the codes. Then the system takes time for it to run a cycle. Then you can rush to get inspected. You can pass NYS inspection with i think 2 systems that havent tested them selves

yes but evap takes awhile to set. if you switch ecus in the parking lot you won't have an issue
