Default EJ8 delay in ON(II) for cluster lights to turn on and starts then dies

So recently when I put my key into the ignition and turn it twice (ACC) it takes awhile for the lights in the cluster to light up.

Than sometimes when I crank the car, the car starts for a second and dies. Then I try again and than it works.

Can someone help me diagnose this please? This started recently like 2 days ago, I've never had this problem before.

There was a TSB for the ignition switch in some 6th gen Civic's that detailed this sort of behavior (car started, let go of key and it'd die).

So does it matter if it gets fixed? I guess will anything worse happens if I continue to drive like this?

I'm just wondering if it's one of those things that is just a convenience problem like a burnt out gauge cluster bulb and not a big problem like a brake or engine malfunction.

Check the ignition switch with a multimeter. A bad switch will get worse to the point that you will not be able to start the car.
