My buddy's 91 integra ls
My friend picked up a 91 integra ls for 350 bucks friday. The reason it was so cheap was a blown head gasket and the owner didnt like to keep his interior clean. We spent the weekend tearing out the interior cleaning and disinfecting it. The engine was somewhat taken apart and today I finally got the head off.
My question now is how the hell do I get the crank pulley off? I've tried using a strap wrench and a breaker bar. But I just cant get the damn thing to budge.
Also the PO had cut the timing belt off how do I make sure the number 1 piston is on its compression stroke. I found some markings on the pulley that looks like this [ ... . ]The manual I'm using doesn't seem to tell me much.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

try an impact gun with the 19mm socket for the crank pulley... when you get the pulley off there will be a groove for the keyway pin that groove faces straight up with cylinder one(the first one closest to the timing belt) at top dead center... hope this helps buddy

Dont use the groove he mentioned. Cuz thats not true TDC.
There's a grove cut into the lower timing belt pulley that when at TDC will point to an arrow on the oil pump. That is TDC.
Moroso makes a crank pulley tool that works wonders when trying to remove the bolt.

Well worth the $69-$105 asking price.

Thanks for the responses. I just picked up a chain wrench today to see if that will work since I don't have a impact wrench. Hopefully I can get some more progress done today.
Use the crank pulley tool as mentioned above. Better off buying it because it will come in handy later down the road.
and to align TDC. Line up with the white mark. Seeing that you have the head off, usually the piston is travelling up as the white mark on the crank is traveling counterclockwise.
Always turn the motor counterclockwise!!

I always use the chain wrench, has never done me wrong. Just gotta learn how to use tools properly. If you got no impact gun. A 6ft breaker bar would be your best bet.
I finally got it off. No damage done to the pulley using the chain wrench. Thanks for all the help. If all goes to plan I should have it all back together and running tonight.
So I have discovered a severed wire. It looks like it might be a ground wire and I dont really see where it could go. Does anyone have any ideas? It runs right in front of the air box on the passenger side.

The paint on this car isn't that great either. There is some bad sun fade on the hood, top of the car, and hatch. Not to mention the dents. the passenger tail light area looked horrible. It caved in a good 4 inches I bumped most of it out. but he is getting it professionally done. Then down the road some fresh paint.
Ok so I'm trying to find out whats going on with my friends car. After the car gets to operating temp it seems like it has no power at all. you can hold down the gas pedal and you get nothing it just seems to fall on its face. No codes are being thrown by the ECU. We had another ECU in it and it would throw 13. I read into it and it said its a problem in the ECU itself. We swapped in this new one and we are getting the same symptoms but no code.
List of things replaced:
New plugs
New wires
New head gasket
New timing belt
Dizzy wasn't working at first took it apart and found that the little screw that holds the rotor wasn't there. Luckily the screw was inside the cap.
