1995 Honda Accord EX SMOKE!!!!
1995 Honda Accord EXLV V6 2.7L Automatic and Leather 151,XXX Miles
Car smokes, mostly when really warmed up. Smoke is very light blue, only does it when hot. Operating within normal temperature perameters, (Halfway between cold and mid point on temp gauge) But when I drive it to a city that's about 25 miles away and back, smokes pretty bad after coming to a complete stop and then starting again. Smokes pretty constant after really warm, but barely. (Atleast I assume so being I can't see the tail pipe from drivers seat.) Switched from 5W-30 to 10W-40 motor oil and seemed to help for a little while but now it's doing it again about 1,100 miles since last oil change. Recently did tune up including new spark plugs, distributor rotor and cap. Also did a coolant system flush and replaced thermostat. Also noticed a change in the amount of power the car has. Not a good one. Seems to take more to get it going. Put a product called RECOVER into the engine oil today on recommendation of my mechanic but seems to have made it worse. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Compression Test results were:
As it says on the invoice,
Says on invoice:
NORM: 171 MIN:142
1)150
2)145
3)145
4)155
5)150
6)155
THANKS!

Oil gets into the combustion chamber through the valve stem seals and piston rings. A little bit can enter through the PCV system. Magic formulas aren't going to fix an oil consumption problem. Not permanently anyway.
yea man i would stay away from them adatives if i were u... they might seem like they work at first but they end up making matters worse in the long run
Maybe something wrong in the exhaust system? The CHECK ENGINE light is on as well and upon diagnosis it was an EVAP code. Could just be triggered by the smoke coming out of the tailpipe. Just trying to figure out what I should check next or what needs to be replaced. The PCV valve was installed brand new when I had my last oil change 1,100miles ago. What's next guys?
Could there be a part within the EVAP system that is causing the smoke itself? It seems like theres too much smoke because it is burning oil but I have only lost a quarter of a quart since last oil change.
is the smoke is blue, its oil, if the oil get into the combustion chamber, its separate from the evap system. not completely separate, but you gotta think, there is only 2 ways oil gets in the chamber, through the rings, through the valve seals, heres a question, when you start it up, does it puff out a little blue cloud, then if you rev it up a lil bit some more come out? the reason I am saying that is because when the car sits the oil in the valve cover will leak through the valve seals if they are bad, but if it smokes real bad after highway speeds, sounds like rings, valve seals have to be almost completely gone to allow that much oil to go through at one time, I had the same problem on my car on startup, replaced valve seals and it was all good, sorry for the long post.

I should have said this in my post above, work on one problem at a time, if you think it is an evap problem, fix it and see what happens, regardless, you will have to fix it anyway
