hey i was just thinkin of welding up my differential assembly in my tranny to make it a full locked tranny but befor doin so, i was just wondering if anyone has ever done this before???? i have welded up countless rear ends in my 4x4s and they work perfect. i know if its possible it would deffinatly save some cash.

You can buy a spool which does the same thing but its pretty reliable. But In my opinion if its going in your daily driver absolutely not. The front end will be soo jerky and tires will continuously chirp around low speed turns. I promise after one day you will regret ever doing it. If its going in a straight up drag car the go ahead.

 

yeah im going to be doin it to my dd. i didnt think of the tire cheeeerp and bad handling till after i posted. i doubt im going to be strictly drag. thanks for the input

 

tires will deff chirp my buddy haves a welded diff in his 240 and it chirps alot

 

On a front wheel drive car it becomes un-drivable. Bad idea. Done to a friends rally car could not turn the car. It needs to be LIMITED slip differential not NO slip differential.
