Default Using a New Cluster

awrite so i just recently converted my ef hatch to 5spd and i was just wondering if i could just get the manual cluster and use it without changing the ecu or anything, just the cluster. will it work great?? if not what rpm guage should i get as in brand and stuff. please help thanks

did you change the ecu from a auto to man. the cluster doesnt effect that just goes in no problem

Nope, did not change the ecu. So u mean I can use a manual cluster and it'll work perfect with the auto ecu??

yes it will but remember to get the same style of cluster (88-89)(90-91) since the wiring is different

oh yeah wait one more thing, will the rpm guage work with the auto ecu??

Well first you need manual ecu. Clusters don't matter, throw whatever you want in just make sure you know what your wiring.

No, in order for your car to work it'll need manual ecu, haha.

The tachometer doesn't require a specific ecu at all, as far as I know of but I'm 99% certain of that.

Yes the tach will work and like a said you need your year specific ecu. As for needing another ecu you dont "need" it i ran the auto ecu on my car for months the only thing that will happen is that the check engine light will be on because of code 19 converter lock up solenoid.

if you swap in another cluster just make sure its right for your year. wiring is diff. tach will work with auto ecu but as stated you will have a cel on.
