H23a vtec Compression Help!
I just bought a H23a Vtec engine from Tiger Japenese Auto For my 4 door EG, most of the sensors were busted like Knock sensor TPS ect. I bolted the flywheel and trans up to it with the starter to do a comprerssion test before I wasted my time putting the Engine in the car. My wife held the throttle wide open while I jumped the starter I got "200, 155, 200, 200" on a cold compression test I added a lil oil to the "155" cyclnder and it bumped it to like 165 but that was it. none of the valves seem to be stuck or anything what could be the prob? could only one hole be that bad? do i just need to put it in and do a warm test? thank you for your help. is that even runable compression?
I would say its a waste of your time. And send the motor back and get your money back. Ive heard some bad things come out of tiger japanese. But someone else should chime in just to make sure. But I think that motor might be junk.
you made a huge mistake ordering from those clowns..
Might want to take the head off and have a look, but do a compression test as per the manual first.
