I have a 97 hx (d16y5) and i just raplaced my thermostat today which after taking off the housing finding out my car never had one so th etemp guage was always 1/4 full for the temp and would fluctuate. what is the normal reading on teh guage is it half full......right now the guage is steady on halfway and alil more like just barely above halfway is that NORMAL?????????????????

The temp gauge should normally read below halfway. Otherwise, there may be a problem.
