Default over heating problems.

a couple days ago the car started over heating a lil. It had done it before, I changed the water pump, went away. I recently installed my turbo, and like 3 days ago, it started over heating agen. I drive it for about 10 minutes, and everything is normal temperature wise. then all of a sudden, it'll climb all the way up to hot. I changed the thermostat and temp sender, and it still does it. that leads me to believe the guage is fucked up or something. anyone have any suggestions?

I installed an autometer mechanical temp guage, the guage reads from 140 degrees to 240 degress...its a mechanical guage, im pretty shure i cant **** up the installation of that, but i took the car for a drive, and the autometer guage didnt move from its lowest reading(140), but the stock guage did the same as before, it went all the way up hot. anyone have any sugguestions?

how did you hook up the mech gauge....if it is hooked up right your electronic gauge is messed up and either shorting out or its sending a bad signal. You cant really go wrong with a mecg gauge, its almost always dead on (this is in eletctroincs mind you) but a gauge should read good no matter what less its busted, now does the car act differently or do you kill the engine when the temp is going up on the electric gauge?

I t'd the probe off one of the coolant lines.. and when I saw that the mechanical guage wasnt moving, but the stock guage went up, I shut the car off. but I dunno what the cars temp is supposed to be at, but I gather it should be atleast above 140 degrees(minimum reading on the auto meter guage)
