Default my build thread

well i've gone from build idea to a build thread
heres my build sheet (i love the world build!!!)

B18C1 Block
USDM 81.5mm CTR pistons on stock Rods
Assembled by bambam

B16 head
Skunk2 Proseries Springs/Retainers
Skunk2 Pro2's
Bisimoto Cam Gears
V2 CNC ported Head by RLZ Engineering

Edelbrock Performer-x intake manifold
Bisimoto Header (sold) now have a fake toda header
Full 3inch exhaust with a 200cell cat
now for some pics of my parts

now first thing i have to do to pull this motor is get my EG8 carpet in because well it looked like this

now once i get that together i'll put the motor in the back of my car and go for a road trip down to RLZ

and while the motor is getting built the tranny will also get built
fully rebuilt with a MFactory LSD with LS 5th gear and maybe a 4.7 or 4.9FD

this all should hopefully be done by next season and i'll be getting tuned on neptune and well i'm hoping to break into the 200whp territory

and next season i'll be running slick on my trailer i just bought!

That's gonna be a really good build. Who are you gonna have tune it? Im from CT too you should have Dave tune it, he's a wizard in tuning lol and if you need somethin he's always there to help. Thats gonna be a nice setup in a 4 door!!

yea i dont think so too but, heres his number 1-860-805-0968. Tell him h2b Joe gave it to you. Thats his cell. He tunes with AEM, HONDATA, CHROME. Im using chrome and love it, its like neptune but hes really good with tuning with chrome. AS far as that 4 door what are you doing with it?? Im looking for a 4 door as a daily because my hatch is getting to me. LMK

nice header man, i've been thinking of tossing my old hytech replica and stepping it up to bisi. good choice on 3 inch exhaust too. somewhere around here I saw a dyno sheet of a 3" vs. 3.5" intake tube on a 200whp car was worth 2-3whp so maybe some cheap horsepower to look into.

well its all coming together now, after only a year haha
But now i'm upgrading my pistons from USDM ITR pistons to CTR pistons
And the Cams will now be Skunk2 Pro2's instead of the Tuner 2's
Other then that its basically all the same

But the motor is at the builder waiting to be built
The head was sent to RLZ about 2 weeks ago and its being sent back to me this week
(so yes kiddies you can get stuff done there and most of my communication has been with Brad from RLZ)
and i'm sending my tranny out to get rebuilt i'm hoping the end of this week

then my builder will give me a street tune so I can drive the car to the dyno and it will be fully broken in (since my clutch is brand new 6puck it needs a few hundred miles or else it might warp)

They are both good choices so I would go with whatever works best for you schedule wise and location wise. I drove to IMW to have my car tuned (20 hours each way) which should give you an idea of the confidence I have in them .

yeah xenocron is about 2 hours
IMW is in the 6-8hours, and there cheaper but by the time I pay for gas they will be the same haha

And the lack of confidence in a Canadian tuner within a 20 hr radius of NS doesn't speak well for us North of the border now does it...lol 20 hours for a tune....that's actually pretty sad this day in age. Cheers to striving for the best though

SR20S13,

Looks like a very solid build, bling bling and all

Good luck with your tuning, at least you have a few very reliable options close to you!

Would love to help you out if we work into your schedule

I assume you or your builder have seen this thread about CTRs in a GSR.

yes we both have, hes not a big fan but i've talked to mikey alot and well i'm convinced I may run a little bit thicker head gasket just to be on the safer side of things but otherwise its being built right now

But build is almost done, had a few problems with the machine shop but i thin bambam will have that all figured out and this thing might be ripping before winter, but since it will still be another week i'm going to replace all the front suspension bushings with hard race, and put in my Koni/Ground Control's so i'll be madd ballin
