Default Viper 350 Two Way Alarm

i never thought this would happen to me but... my car (92 honda civic cx hatchback) was stolen at my work place (i work the night shift at a grocery store)

about 3 days later my friend found it... with my fog lights/rims/radio/speakers stripped.. with the ignition ripped apart to start the car...

the car is at my friends shop right now getting the ignition fixed...

now i want to install a two way pager alarm... ive searched craigslist and stumbled on this ad

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/1952679884.html

is it worth it for 250 + 50 per door for power locks?

also what kinds of questions should i be asking the installer. i dont want to get ripped off

Yes, that part will work. You will also need two spdt relays, or a directed electronics 451m. Spdt relays (single pole, double throw) are fairly common and cheap, they are relays with 5 pins vs. Only 4 pins. The 451m may come in the box with the alarm, I'm not sure though, bc I don't sell that model, but ask the guy on craigslist abt that...

The viper 350 is NOT a 2 way alarm just so you know...

Also fwiw at best buy we sell them BRAND NEW for 249 installed and you get the lifetime warranty with it through viper when a professional shop installs it

I questioned that also... Abt the 350 being two way... I know for a fact that the 350hv is one way, but when checking the guys craigslist ad, he does state that he has a 350 with two-way paging, he doesn't state any other identification other than 350, if the full model # is 350hv, it can't transmit two way data at all, even if he says he is adding a two-way remote.

And very true, viper offers a 99 year warranty when a directed electronics dealer does the install, and the tech is mecp certified. (you would need a receipt from a dealer to get the 99 year warranty.)

Bestbuy does sell the 350hv installed for $250, and $60 per door for the door lock motor actuators, with lifetime workmanship warranty, 99 yr warranty on the alarms brain, but does not warranty remotes or accessories.

Checked the craigslist ad again, it looks like he is offering the 3305v for $250 installed. That IS a two-way system, confirm this with the seller before you pay! Lol!

Viper has done away with the previous base model alarms, and pretty much everything is a 350 series, either the 350, 350 plus, or 350 responder. the one listed is 2-way.

Yeah but that is because DEI does NOT warranty the remotes or accesories no matter where you bought them

That is very true, sorry I wasn't perfectly clear, I was implying that Bestbuy is an authorized dealer, and has mecp certified techs. I was just stating how the dei warranty works, using Bestbuy as an example.

FWIW the new vipers are very nice units, much better quality than what they were putting out in previous years
