Hi, I'm interested if someone had seen the second version of blox? How it's made? Is it better or comparable with the skunk2 pro manifold? I've noticed it on jhpusa. On the official site there's no info.

its the same as skunk2. Blox is a knock off of skunk2.

Blox likes the fact that people will recognize it as a pro copy which is like free marketing.

 

How is the casting on it though. I have a skunk 2 pro series that I was going to use till I read the thread on the CNC ported ITR intake.

 

blox's owner was skunk2's old owner.. expect blox to copy just about every single thing skunk2 does.

 

Not sponsored by blox but how is blox a knock or replica of skunk2 or any other company for the matter?. why because there prices are low?,because they sell alot of products on ebay?. the game is changing, one week ppl saying you gotta pay to play so you have to buy this $1000 part. but the minute a company comes out with low good quality parts its something. i bet any money on it and im serious if miller was to put blox cams or manifold ppl will hop on them like good *** apple pie.

i remember when blox first came out ppl was tryna find any reason to say its another knock off and ebay crap. some guy on here asked about blox b cams and 90% of the ppl did not have personal experience with the cams and ppl said "my buddy had" "my brother" had them and they cracked at high rpm or etc. but so do other cams also. blox makes good quality parts for a good price. dont think so dont buy them

Not true. Dave Shih (Owner of Blox) use to work @ Skunk. Never was the owner.

 

did you not see they even have the plate like a skunk2 manifold has? its clearly obvious its a replica of a skunk2 pro series.

 

ok and the point your making is what?. are you telling because it has a plate attached the manifold its a replica. wow there is thousands of parts on the market that are the same just a diff color or a particular part moved to a diff side, reason being infringment laws buddy. look at solid mounts and that should make some light on my point. just because i make a similar part does not mean im replicating somebody patent. buy hey doesnt matter at the end of the day, its a good manifold good pricing, good quality if i was all motor i would buy 1

 

its the r&d a company puts into a component and then another company (such as blox) goes and replicates it.

skunk2 can sell their intake manifolds cheaper than blox themselves if they wanted, but of course they're not going to make as much profit.

i thought i read the blox manifolds runner length are slightly longer and bigger ports.
and people are saying the casting was better than the skunk2.
Any chance that the blox guy went out and actually one upped skunk2 in this category?

 

I swear by blox, I have many of their products and I love them

blox intake mani
blox fpr
blox cam seal
blox duel valve springs and retainers
blox c cams
blox adjustable test pipe
blox shift ****

they are cheaper than the rest but ive never had a problem with any of their problems except their valves. I was waiting for over 5 months for valves when I fonally cancelled my order

 

theres a difference between copying and a generic part that people put their own logo on (such as coilovers). solid mounts are not even close to being replica/knock offs. solid mounts are not even close to being the same category. do you not see where the nameplate is on the blox and skunk2 manifolds? THEY COPIED IT EXACTLY THE SAME. if you look at a hasport mount and an innovative mount you can clearly tell their bushing designs are different.

 

Did you just crawl out of some 1950's bomb shelter or something? It's not opinion, it's fact that nearly every product Blox makes is a DIRECT copy of a skunk part or someone else's. Their cams are a perfect example, the Blox A/B/HSL cams = Skunk tuner 1/2/3's. Blox C cams = exact replicas of Jun 3 cams. You need to do some research before you keep talking...

 

I like how people think skunk2 is not also a knock off/replica brand. The only thing i know of that was truly created by skunk2 was the pro series cams. And not everyone agrees on them being that reliable(high ramp/crap material).

 

We're not discussing Skunk, we're talking about Blox in this thread. Skunk does their own R&D even if it was started on someone else's work at one time a long time ago and improved upon. Blox does NO R&D work of their own, they copy only. This is a fact and it's all we were saying.

 

just a thought but ever wonder maybe both blox and skunk2 just might be in on the whole thing together. for all we know both owners could be sitting back laughing at everyone bickering and beefing about whats better and whats not, kinda how dems and repubs do when election times come up lol

 

They aren't. Skunk goes to great lengths to show the differences between their stuff and copies, including BLox stuff. Blox needs Skunk to survive, Skunk doesn't need them.

 

yea and barack and hilary just about chocked each other when they were running against each other yet she is his secretary of state lol all im saying is i try not to fall into the whole one is better then the other because at the end of the day its all about money. and the more people fight over which of the 2 is better the more money they both make.

 

Hillary a Barack were both from the same party, supposedly having a "friendly" competition for control of it. Blox and Skunk are not part of the same company, they are competitiors and not having a friendly competition for control over the market.

It is about money, make no mistake about it but who's "the real G" and who's the "wannabe" ? That's what is being said.
