VTEC KILLER CAMS VS SKUNK2 PRO3
IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING AN ALL MOTOR GSR IN AN EG HATCH LOOKING AT 12:5:1 COMPRESSION DUE TO NON E85 IN AUGUSTA GA. MY BUILDER TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD GO WITH THE SKUNK2 PRO3 CAMS BUT IVE ALSO BEEN HEARING ABOUT THESE VTEC KILLER CAMS. HAS ANYBODY USED THESE CAMS BEFORE I WANTTO SEE WHAT THERE MADE OF.
vtec killer cams are for race only they dont have the small (non vtec lobes)
i mean wait they dont have the vtec lobe because the regular ones are high lift.

I had two different sets of custom grinds made for my 2.0L by Web. Pro-3's made more power everywhere.
While custom grinds can be better than an off the shelf solution, it doesn't always work that way.
Want the best cam for your setup? Buy every cam you think is good, and test them in your own motor. Resale on barely used cams is good, so you aren't out hundreds of dollars. And in the end, knowing exactly which cam works best on your setup is worth the extra time and money spent testing.

does someone make rockers specifically FOR vtec killers which cant be unlocked and are lighter? i thought that was the main idea behind them. use them in a race engine where bottom end torque doesnt matter, use lighter locked rockers to reduce VT weight.....AND reduce the moving parts in the engine. so what you get is a lil better reliability because of less moving parts, and lighter VT which makes higher rpms safer.

id also think that a place with a good rep would be willing to work with you on it to get you what you want/need. could be wrong though.
for drag id say either will do, u dont need low end torque so if u have it fine, if u dont fine.
for road racing id say you can PROBABLY do without low end torque.........this completely depends on what kinda track. a place like watkins glen which is a VERY fast track, with not much in the low speed corner dept it would be fine. alot of then motorsports parks around the country have alot of low speed corners where you might not have the right gear to keep you in high rpms will benefit from vtec.
for autox low end torque is KEY, which is why most FI cars that are built specifically for autoX use superchargers as opposed to turbos. so in that case you will DEFINITELY need the low end benefits from vtec.

There are many new cams available that make more power than TODA VTEC Killers.
so why cant you just build an LS instead, it aldready doesnt have the vtec rocker if you gonnause it for all race purpose why not LS instead of turning a vtec head into non vtec?
if you look at how the rockers on an ls are kept in place, you'd see it is not stable at high rpm, at all.
