Default Parking Brake Light Coming On 1st-4th gear!

Hey,

My friend who owns a '99 GSR told me about his parking brake light coming on during hard acceleration in 1st gear. Now, He says it happens through 4th gear. I was thinking that a sensor wire is loose/disconnected or his parking brake cable needs to be adjusted. What would be the best route to fix this problem. No other symptoms as far as I know.

Thanks

Did you try topping off the brake fluid? If the level gets too low, the sensor activates the light.

I understood Chiovnidca's reply... maybe not "top off" but make sure that the master cylinder has a sufficient amount of fluid in there...

also consider the amount of play the e-brake handle handle has... if the handle is sloppy it will also illluminate the brake lamp when hitting bumps and what not...

only 2 switches that will illuminate the brake lamp... E-Brake switch and master cylinder fluid level switch....
