I got to do a rotation in the ER last week 10 yr old kid, ATV riding out with his parents, no helmet, careflight from AZ...no medical insurance...kid is up in recovery now ****ed up with brain damage. One of the most moronic things I've been privileged to watch a parent do.

 

I want insurance for my bike. But when I called all the major companies they all wanted minimum of $2500; and I have a clean record. Said screw that. Not going to pay 25% of my bike per year just so I can ride 3-4 months. I just paid out of pocket when I layed it down.

 

I was shocked when I called for insurance. I'm 32, and I'm not going to pay that much more for bike insurance when it's a lot cheaper than my car. Granted, I will probably drop that bike before I mess up in my car, but $2000+ for insurance is crazy to me.

 

i dont think about not riding or getting better gear. i think about not crashing my bike cause i was doing something stupid.

but better gear never hurt.

 

thats funny cause im 28 with a clean record and i havent done a MS course, i just have my motorcycle permit and i have full coverage on my bike for $14.95 a month. statefarm insurance baby!

 

Yeah, I would check around...my bike, over 900Cc sport bike, full coverage, $230 a year. Gotta luv those cavemen (or lizards...)
